Party Recovery – The hangover smoothie

– The smoothie combines 5 ingredients that all help remedy the rough morning after having a little too many cold ones the night before.
1 Banana – Bananas contain Potassium. Potassium are lost during drinking alcohol because alcohol is diuretic so every time you urinate you lose potassium.
When your potassium levels are low you might feel lethargic, physically weaker and nauseated.
1 tsp Honey – Honey helps with providing sodium and potassium to your system, which helps it deal more effectively with the alcohol. It also provides fructose which helps your liver more readily metabolize the extra alcohol in your body, thus ending the hangover period faster.
The 5 Ingredients are:
1 Cup of Coconut Water – Coconut water contains five of the electrolytes found in the human blood. (Electrolytes turn on all thoughts and motion. Basically electrolytes trigger all events like muscles action by controlling ion channels.)
½ Cup Apple Juice – Juice kick starts the recovery process. Juice contains plenty of water and vitamins to get the body rehydrated. Also the fructose in sweet fruity drinks instantly gives the body energy, and may help boost the metabolism to get rid of those gnarly alcohol toxins.

The hangover smoothie recipe
- 1 Cup Coconut Water
- ½ Cup Apple Juice
- 1 Banana
- 1 tsp Honey
- 2 Kiwis
- Peel and slice the Banana & Kiwis.
- Combine all ingredients in a blender
- Blend on high for 30 seconds.
